Production Controller

The Role:

We are looking to recruit a Production Controller, to report directly to the Production Director. The ideal candidate will be able to use their own initiative and work well under pressure and within a team. They will have an ability to identify improvements and the initiative to carry them through to conclusion.

What you’ll be doing

  • Liaise with printers and internal departments to manage and maintain production scheduling processes.
  • Ensure production schedules fully meet customer requirements and are communicated, displayed and tracked for all Top That publications.
  • Develop and support the daily management cycle – quickly identifying tight deadlines, potential delays and helping to manage customer expectations. Communicating and escalating as appropriate and expediting problem resolution.
  • Monitor the progress of all products from design through to delivery and ensure all updates, both internally and externally are communicated in a timely response.

Experience / Skills Required

  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written / verbal, and good organisational ability of self and others.
  • Ability to work autonomously under pressure, managing own time to enable the meeting of deadlines for goals and objectives.
  • The ability to communicate well and present issues in simple language that is easily understood as you will be communicating with people where English is not their first language.
  • Use of Microsoft office and network systems.
  • Be commercially aware and understand how decisions have financial consequences.
  • Be able to think through problems and challenges in a logical and intelligent manner.
  • Knowledge of printing and/or publishing is not essential but would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of shipping and freight forwarding is not essential but would be an advantage.

 


Junior Business Intelligence Developer

The Role:

We’re looking to recruit a Junior Business Intelligence Developer to expand our technical team.  The job is working closely with the Head of Digital Development and you will form part of a small team involved in implementing the company's Business Intelligence strategy.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support the design and development of in house created IT systems, databases and online web-based products
  • Communicating / interacting with members of the wider team, to understand their requirements
  • Meet project goals and specifications in terms of time, cost and performance
  • Process and respond to IT requests within defined timeframes
  • Provide hands-on training and problem solving for users as required

What you’ll need to have/be

  • Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming and its associate languages
  • Previous experience in a LAMP stack environment
  • An understanding of front end development using JavaScript and its associated libraries; HTML 5, JQuery, Bootstrap
  • Excellent team working and communication skills
  • Experience of working within a technical role within a busy office based environment
  • Flexible and adaptable with a proactive and positive attitude
  • Professional, courteous manner
  • Ability to remain calm, polite and patient in high-pressure situations
  • Highly analytical, adaptable and flexible
  • Self-motivated, ability to use initiative and provide pro-active support to users
  • Ambitious and keen to learn
  • A professional attitude towards business practise

Also beneficial

  • Linux /Ubuntu Command Line & Bash Scripting
  • Knowledge of Internet technologies including web services, systems integration, systems infrastructure and security issues
  • Knowledge on graphic design using Photoshop, InDesign etc.
  • Any iOS / Android experience
